Lisl Wagner-Bacher, who has the culinary arts in her blood, received the very first “Austria’s Chef of the Year” award back in 1983. Since then, she has received numerous national and international awards and honors for her harmonious, delicate cuisine – which, for all her creativity, still always puts the spotlight on unbridled enjoyment. In 2011, three decades after first being mentioned in Gault Millau, Lisl Wagner-Bacher – who over the course of her entire career held top spots in every restaurant guide – was named Chef of the Year in the Aral Restaurant Guide. This cookbook represents her culinary legacy and, at the same time, introduces her designated successor and 2009 Chef of the Year Thomas Dorfer, who is also her stepson.
